Self Introduction Speech


Purpose

Student shares facts about their life with the class. Topic areas need to include: family, likes and dislikes, music, and employment. Go into detail, but only share those things you won't mind having repeated in the school. This required speech will have a time limit of 4 to 5 minutes (3:50 to 5:10).

Specific Information

Good introduction/conclusion, good eye contact, vocal variety, evidence of preparation and good use of time. Hobbies are optional, use them only if you need more time. The Purpose and Summary Step are in brackets because they are rhetorical. Definitions: "Jobs" means the things you do to get by, "career" refers to your life's work.
